Brazil-Caribe Bulletin of December 2018

January 14, 2019

The last Bulletin of the year 2018 of the Province of Brazil-Caribe has arrived!

Very focused on the Provincial Congregation that took place during the first days of January 2019, the newsletter also brings many other news:

On the feast of the Immaculate Conception, we were able to celebrate the golden jubilee of our sister Ione Derci Ramos, FI. A celebration in which were present sisters and lay people who wanted to join us in this day of thanksgiving.

In this same line of celebrations, the perpetual vows of Sister Leila Janaína Pereira da Silva, FI have also been celebrated. The feast began the day with a missionary triduum that counted on the presence of the Daughters of Jesus of Rio de Janeiro, Minas, Bahia and Piauí and many other young people and friends of the Daughters of Jesus and the Ignatian Magis Center of Fortaleza.

We can also read about different experiences related to the pastoral activities of the Daughters of Jesus in Cuba: meeting Bibliconoce, Spiritual Exercises with laity, workshop of animators …

From the community of Mozambique, we have information on the festivities of the Christian community where we are present: the celebration of Christ the King and the inauguration of the restoration of the church of Namuno and the ordination of a new deacon for the diocese of Pemba.

For its part, in the Dominican Republic, the national meeting of educators of the Daughters of Jesus EDUFI 2018 took place last December. The theme of the meeting was: “From Laudato Si and the Sustainable Development Goals, children and young people design the change”. The theme was shared by Roberto Cabrera Ventura, delegated by the provincial Dayse Agretti.
