Canonical Visit in Spain: Madrid-Berrospe, Elche and San Sebastián

March 5, 2022

As we well know, our Superior General is doing the second part of the canonical visit to Spain. On this occasion, it is she herself, in her letter nº 23 to the whole Congregation, who tells us about it.

I am resuming with Sonia Regina the visit to Spain. We have already gone to the Community of Madrid-Berrospe and Elche (and to the Community “Nuestra Señora de Aránzazu” of San Sebastián, we can add today).  How much to thank for the help and care of the well-being of the Body that the encounter makes possible! I am also grateful for the prayers of all the sisters because I feel them as help, as well as being able to make the Body present in the communities through which we are passing. The activities and apostolic presences that the Daughters of Jesus accompany in Spain are rich and varied.

At the end of the visit, I will have a meeting with the Jesuitinas Educational Foundation (Board of Trustees and Ownership Team). It is to be appreciated the good work of the Foundation for what I am seeing in the visit to the schools. It has been a great joy to receive when we were in the community of Elche, members of the Management Team of the College of Murcia –recently incorporated into the Foundation–. I note the enthusiasm and generosity of the laity who give their best for the good of humanity through education. I have a deep sense of gratitude.

This is what I can share with you today and I didn’t want to stop doing it. From within me comes this communication in the middle of life, of a visit full of deep encounters. May the Lord put us all in a position to take care of the well-being of our Congregation, to go ever deeper into the experience of true evangelical poverty, and to take care of fraternity among us, a sacred gift that comes to us from being daughters.

With great affection and in the union of prayers

Graciela Francovig, Superior General
