The canonical visit of the Superior General Graciela Francovig and General Councilor Thelma Barbarona continues, in the Province of Andean America in Argentina.
From February 25 to March 3, Graciela visited the community and school Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes in Monterrico, Jujuy. It coincided with the start of classes and she had a meeting with the educational community, as well as with some teams and groups of students. She also participated in the Eucharist at the San Isidro Labrador Parish.
The Monterrico community has written a few words about the visit:
We were looking forward to the visit of the Superior General, Sister Graciela Francovig and her Councilor, Sister Thelma Barbarona. We were fortunate to receive them at the beginning of the weekend, so we were able to enjoy two quiet days, alternating personal interviews, informal sharing, rest and even some time for sightseeing, enjoying the beauty of these lands of Jujuy.
Then followed the meeting with the directors, teachers and staff, who are familiar with Graciela because of her frequent presence in previous years. Everyone felt listened to and grateful for the meeting. In the same way, the students of the school, in their first days of school, were able to receive her greeting and enjoy the formal and informal meeting with Graciela and Thelma.
Their stay in our Community was an occasion for listening, reflection, discernment, research, openness to the whole Congregation and much joy and gratitude for all that was shared.
The participation in the Eucharist delighted the parish community, who were grateful for their approach and the presence of the sisters who, for years, in the school, the surrounding neighborhood and the parish life, have been giving witness of their dedicated life.
From March 4 to 9, she visited the community of Córdoba-Villa Ocampo and the Mater Purissima school in Córdoba. She had a meeting with the primary and secondary levels, where the students expressed to her what the school meant to them.
