It is not easy to reach Elias Piña, where the soil is red. But the Superior General, Maria Inez Furtado, traveled last week to El Valle to visit this project. Accompanied by her general consultor Joy Salomo, the Provincial Superior of Brazil-Caribbean, Sônia Regina Rosa, and the local superior, Melba Neris, she made the journey by bus and truck from Santo Domingo to El Llano and El Valle, about 1200 kilometers above sea level.
To get there is to share the joy of the children, meet the women and listen to the life that inhabits these hills. Maria Inez had a firsthand opportunity to hear how laity and Daughters of Jesus carry out this project that is yielding so much fruit.
