It was the course<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bc.edu\/content\/bc-web\/schools\/stm\/sites\/formacion-continua\/cursos\/cursos_virtuales\/cursos-virtuales\/aspectos-teologicos-y-sociales-del-pontificado-de-francisco2.html\"> &#8220;Discerning in desolate times&#8221;<\/a> by Toni Catal\u00e1.<\/p>\n<p>On this occasion, and on the same platform, <strong>the organising team of the Synod<\/strong> on Synodality is offering us a free online course, <strong>&#8220;Common discernment and decision-making in the Church&#8221;<\/strong>. It aims to support the formation of more than 100,000 people in the theology and practice of synodality.<\/p>\n<p>It is an <strong>intercontinental and intercultural project<\/strong>. This is how <strong>Rafael Luciani<\/strong>, a Venezuelan layman and theologian who is a member of the team organising this formative experience, presents it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>It consists of &#8220;a series of <strong>free virtual courses<\/strong> to support <strong>all the people of God<\/strong> &#8211; bishops, priests, religious men and women, lay men and women &#8211; who have been called to this process of ecclesial renewal.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>This event (The Synod on Synodality) represents a <strong>new stage<\/strong> in the life of the Church that i<strong>nvites us to generate processes of conversion and reform<\/strong> in order to build a synodal Church in this third millennium.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>All the courses are completely free of charge and will be offered in several languages &#8211; Spanish, English, Portuguese, French, Italian. In addition, <strong>speakers<\/strong> <strong>from all continents<\/strong> will be taking part, giving us a global and intercultural vision of the Church.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>The <strong>first course<\/strong> will take place in <strong>July 2022<\/strong>. Over a period of <strong>three weeks<\/strong>, different topics <strong>on common discernment and decision-making in the Church will be offered<\/strong>.
