{"id":46249,"date":"2025-03-08T20:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-03-08T19:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hijasdejesus.org\/lenten-way-i-sunday-of-lent\/"},"modified":"2025-03-10T14:06:18","modified_gmt":"2025-03-10T13:06:18","slug":"lenten-way-i-sunday-of-lent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hijasdejesus.org\/en\/lenten-way-i-sunday-of-lent\/","title":{"rendered":"Lenten Journey &#8211; 1st Sunday of Lent"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On this First Sunday of Lent, we accompany Jesus as he goes into the desert and we continue our Lenten Journey towards the 19th General Congregation. Let us go deeper into the second part of the Prayer for the 19th GC: <\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>&#8220;Grant us to be docile to the Spirit, the grace of discernment which invites us to examine the paths we have traveled and to choose what today would give more life to this Body in Mission<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p><strong>The Word illumines us<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p> Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, where for forty days he was tested by the devil. He ate nothing at all during those days. The devil said to him, \u201cIf you are the Son of God, command this stone to become a loaf of bread.\u201d Jesus answered him, \u201cIt is written, \u2018One does not live by bread alone.\u201d<br\/>Then the devil led him up and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. And the devil said to him, \u201cTo you I will give all this authority and their glory, for it has been given over to me, and I give it to anyone I please. If you, then, will worship me, it will all be yours.\u201d Jesus answered him, \u201cIt is written, worship the Lord your God, and serve only him.\u201d<br\/>Then the devil led him to Jerusalem and placed him on the pinnacle of the temple and said to him, \u201cIf you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here, for it is written, \u2018He will command his angels concerning you, to protect you,\u2019 and \u2018On their hands they will bear you up, so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.\u201d Jesus answered him, \u201cIt is said, \u2018Do not put the Lord your God to the test.\u2019\u201d When the devil had finished every test, he departed from him until an opportune time.<br\/><br\/><br\/>          <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><em>Lk 4:1-13<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Saint Candida invites us<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Ask God to enlighten all of us in the Council so that we may be wise and we may fulfill in everything the will of the Lord.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\">[Letter #315 to Sr. Antonia Beloqui. 19 April, 1906. Volume II].<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>It helps us to live<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Be inspired to integrate the Examen into your daily life. If you already practice it, give testimony of how much it helps you to live being docile to the Spirit.
