Its mission is to promote communion and collaboration among women&#8217;s religious congregations and to provide a space for encounter, reflection, and joint action to respond to the challenges of consecrated life and the universal Church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">UISG Plenary Assembly<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Recently, the UISG held its 23rd Plenary ( <a href=\"https:\/\/plenary2025.uisg.org\/es\/mujeres-de-esperanza-la-uisg-concluye-la-xxiii-asamblea-plenaria-con-una-llamada-a-la-transformacion\/\"><strong>XXIII Plenary Assembly<\/strong> )<\/a>in Rome from 29 April to 5 May 2025, under the theme \u2018Consecrated Life: A Hope that Transforms\u2019. It was constituted as follows: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>President<\/strong>: Sister Oonah O&#8217;Shea, Superior General of the Sisters of Our Lady of Sion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Graciela Francovig, Superior General of the Hijas de Jesus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Counselors:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sr. Miriam Altenhofen &#8211; Missionary Sisters, Servants of the Holy Spirit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sr. Anna Josephine D&#8217;Souza &#8211; Missionary Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sr. Angela Kapitingana &#8211; Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Africa<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sr. Dolores Lahr &#8211; Sisters of St. Joseph of Chamb\u00e9ry<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sr. Priscilla Latela &#8211; Religious of Mary Immaculate &#8220;Claretian Missionary Sisters&#8221;.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sr. Chiara Lorenzato &#8211; Clarist Franciscan Missionaries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sr. Sylvette Man\u00e9 &#8211; Sisters of the Congregation of Mary &#8211; &#8220;Marists&#8221;.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sr. Mar\u00eda Filomena Mendoza &#8211; Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sr. Mar\u00eda Yaneth Moreno Rodr\u00edguez &#8211; Sisters of the Divine Savior<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sr. Rita Calvo &#8211; Sisters of the Company of Mary, Our Lady<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>At the conclusion of the Assembly of Delegates, which marked the end of the 23rd Plenary and the beginning of a new cycle of governance for the UISG &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uisg.org\/es\/news\/press-release-uisg-2025-plenary-hope-that-transforms\/\">the words of the three Presidents<\/a> (outgoing, current Presidents, and Vice-President) expressed the spiritual and missionary heart of consecrated life today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We especially share with you what was expressed by Graciela Francovig, the newly elected Vice President of the UISG, who underlined the value of the historical moment we live in, in harmony with the path of the Church:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;We have lived this Plenary in a historic moment for the Church, marked by the election of the new Pope. We deeply feel the link between our journey and the universal Church: both are called to renewal in the spirit of synodality. As consecrated women, we commit ourselves to nurturing and sustaining this synodal way of life, in the daily life of our Congregations and at the frontiers of the world.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>With this election, Graciela Francovig&#8217;s service in the UISG continues.
