{"id":57206,"date":"2026-11-01T18:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-11-01T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hijasdejesus.org\/in-the-fathers-hands-the-light-that-never-goes-out\/"},"modified":"2026-11-01T18:00:54","modified_gmt":"2026-11-01T17:00:54","slug":"in-the-fathers-hands-the-light-that-never-goes-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hijasdejesus.org\/en\/in-the-fathers-hands-the-light-that-never-goes-out\/","title":{"rendered":"In the Father&#8217;s Hands: The Light That Never Goes Out"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/hijasdejesus.org\/en\/the-saints-are-like-stained-glass-windows-that-let-in-the-light-of-god\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/hijasdejesus.org\/todos-los-santos-2026\/\">Yesterday we looked at the stained-glass windows in our home<\/a>\u2014those saints who let God\u2019s light shine in. Today, November 2, All Souls\u2019 Day, the light is still shining, but we look at it from a different perspective: that of grateful remembrance and prayer.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Church dedicates this day to remembering those who have completed their earthly pilgrimage. It is a day when the pain of separation is tempered by the certainty of the Resurrection. We do not remember them with inconsolable sadness, but with the faith that those who walk with Christ in this life live and rise with Him forever.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is why the family of the Daughters of Jesus comes together today in a shared prayer of gratitude and hope for our sisters who have passed away in the past year, for our family members, and for all our loved ones.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Light for Our Prayer<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To mark this day, we wanted to return to Mother Candida. The reflections that follow are drawn from the book <em><a href=\"https:\/\/recursos.hijasdejesus.org\/?view=file&amp;id=651:la-hija-de-jesus-en-la-enfermedad-segun-los-escritos-de-la-m-fundadora&amp;catid=24\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/recursos.hijasdejesus.org\/?view=file&amp;id=651:la-hija-de-jesus-en-la-enfermedad-segun-los-escritos-de-la-m-fundadora&amp;catid=24\">*The Daughter of Jesus in Illness According to the Writings of the Foundress*<\/a><\/em>, by Placidia Garc\u00eda Garc\u00eda, FI, which compiles her letters and reflections on the Christian meaning of suffering, the final passage, and eternal life.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Thy will be done<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Faced with the frailty and passing of her loved ones, Mother C\u00e1ndida\u2019s deepest attitude was always to accept God\u2019s will with love. In her letters, she expressed this with simplicity: \u201cMay God\u2019s will be done, and may His most holy will be fulfilled.\u201d She was convinced that \u201cthe Lord is just as worthy of blessings in sickness as in times of health.\u201d She teaches us to accept the end with peace, placing ourselves entirely in the Father\u2019s hands.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Suffering That Is Not in Vain<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mother C\u00e1ndida tells us that the hardships and suffering of recent years make sense when they are united with Jesus on the cross and the Virgin of Sorrows. It is a journey of identification with Christ, and she summed it up this way: \u201cWe must climb to Calvary, and from there, to heaven.\u201d Whoever dies with Jesus out of love walks with the certainty of rising with Him.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Two Good Friends for the Final Hour<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When the time came to face the final stage of life, Mother Candida instilled a deep sense of peace in her daughters. She asked them not to be afraid or lose their peace, and reminded them with a mother\u2019s tenderness that \u201cJesus is our most loving Father and Mary Immaculate our loving Mother,\u201d the \u201cbest friends and advocates at the hour of death.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">With her gaze fixed on heaven<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Christian hope looks toward the heavenly homeland, for which the Foundress \u201clonged continually.\u201d In her writings, she imagined entering eternity as God\u2019s merciful embrace, in which He welcomes the faithful soul with these words: \u201cCome, my bride, to enjoy the glory I promised you\u2026 Enter the Kingdom of your Lord.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A bond that cannot be broken<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Death does not sever the bond of love that unites us with our sisters and loved ones. Mother C\u00e1ndida asked the sisters who had gone to heaven to continue interceding for the Congregation and for the world. Those who rest in God continue to live in the communion of saints; they accompany us on our journey and pray for our families.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Grateful Remembrance<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These certainties we receive from Saint Candida help us and fill us with hope.
