In May 2019, the General Congregation XVIII (GC XVIII) concluded and left us a single Determination: "To follow Jesus Christ closely, who chose poverty for himself".

"The GC XVIII, in giving us this Determination, wants to express the authentic desires to maintain the Body in its well-being and to adapt it to what the current circumstances of the world ask for." (Det. CG XVIII nº 2) For what?  To manifest, with greater clarity, the goodness of God that we have experienced.

In these two years we have deepened the Determination from five keys: Determination leads us to the Constitutions, in the light of the Word of God, from the perspective of  Laudato Si', illuminated by Ignatian spirituality and from the writings of the M. Foundress and Fr. Herranz. And we have joyfully celebrated a Jubilee Year for the 150 years of life of the Congregation.

We, the Daughters of Jesus, hold the Determination in our hands and many lay people have had the opportunity to read it. Today we share it in phrases that we will be taking out on Twitter and Facebook throughout this month in which the Church celebrates the day of Consecrated Life (February 2, Feast of the Presentation of the Lord).

This publication wants to be a “thank you” and memory of the GC XVIII, while encouraging it to continue animating our life and mission in the remainder of the sexennial.
