The General Congregation XIX is entering its final phase, and the Hijas de Jesus gathered in Rome are sharing moments full of meaning, prayer, and gratitude.
On Tuesday evening, the Sisters had a prayer specially prepared by the Sisters of East Asia. It was a prayer inspired by the unification method, an inculturated spirituality in the Church of the East. It was a space of encounter and communion, allowing the participants to reflect on their journey and prepare for the conclusion of the General Congregation.
Wednesday was a day dedicated to signing the minutes and following the usual procedure for disposing of documents, a practice which officially marks the conclusion of the work and expresses the confidentiality of all that has been experienced during these days.
Tomorrow, Thursday 22 May, as already announced, the official closing of GC XIX will take place. At 12:30 PM in Rome, Graciela Francovig, Superior General, will address the assembly on the ‘Closing of GC XIX’. Afterwards, at 6:30 PM, the Eucharist of Thanksgiving will be celebrated in the chapel of the Curia, presided by Claudio Paul, SJ, General Counselor of the Society of Jesus.
We thank all the Sisters, communities, and everyone who have accompanied this process with their prayers and closeness. Let us remain attentive to these final moments, which will mark the beginning of the life of the Congregation in apostolic dispersion. Let us prepare our hearts to welcome the newness of the determinations and conclusions taken.
