We are inaugurating a time in which each of us is called to prepare ourselves for the next General Congregation (GC). Like our Foundress, let us allow Jesus, the incarnate, crucified and risen Son, to usher us into a new period of life for the Congregational Body.
A GC is always a time of grace, it is an opportunity:
- to allow ourselves to be found by the Lord in our deepest identity, to be true Daughters of Jesus.
- to walk together and discover in our community environments that He is also present there and challenges us to a magis.
- to make your preparation a spiritual experience in which, in fact, we want the Holy Spirit to be the protagonist.
- Praying with its fundamental elements
The logo represents our identity and the process we are preparing to live. It maintains the current logo of the Congregation with its fundamental elements and what they convey:
- IHS: Jesus in the center.
- Cross: Identity. Giving.
- Circle: Community. World. Universals. Welcoming.
- Open lines: Embrace. Welcoming. Openness. Everyone fits. Fraternity.
- Typography: Simplicity. Clarity. Legibility.
- Colors: Serenity. Joy. Diversity. Today.
Made with the one line style, drawings made with a single stroke, without interruptions, it represents dynamism and vitality, in addition to bringing a tone of freshness and joy to the whole brand image.
How do these characteristics resonate with me? Do I see them reflected in my life and in the lives of other Daughters of Jesus? Which of them do I feel as a gift that God has given me? Which one do I need more at this time in my life?
For GC XIX, three figures are added that could well be each one of us, from our communities, our walk with others or our conversations on the road, together with Jesus, like the disciples returning to Emmaus.
What do we talk about along the way? Where does Jesus come to us? Who do these three figures remind me of? What do they evoke?
They walk towards identity on a line that supports, welcomes and orients them… Difficulties, despite our desire for fidelity, often make our journey uphill, full of curves and obstacles.
How do I feel it is the path of my life, of my day to day life? How do I live it? Does it sustain me or tire me? What curves do I experience? What are my obstacles? Which paths are blocking me?
But, with Him, it is possible to face the road . Together. In Him. From our individuality but in communion of diversities. Letting the best of each one of us emerge.
How have I faced and do I face the paths of my life? With whom? What is the best in me? What is the best of those with whom I make community?
We place our hope in the risen Jesus, not in ourselves, not in our means and abilities. This hope is reflected in the rays of light coming from the cross.
Where do I put my hope? Where do I find it? Where do I find the light to walk my path, the one that the Spirit inspires in me?
- We pray with our Constitutions
The logo of GC XIX is inspired by number 318 of our Constitutions, which reminds us that the Congregation was not established by human means and should not be maintained by human means, but by the power of Christ.
“Because the Congregation, which has not been instituted by human means, cannot be preserved or increased by them, but by the omnipotent hand of Christ, our God and Lord, it is necessary to place in Him alone the hope that He will preserve and carry forward the work which He has deigned to begin.” CFI 318
For this reason, we want to place our hope in him alone and make the journey of preparation with him. (Phil. 1:6)
- We pray with an outgoing Church
“The Holy Spirit possesses infinite inventiveness” (EG 178). Walking the path with Him, together, listening and discerning His voice will make us bold, creative in the Lord, we will live and build a path of hope.
We hope that General Congregation XIX will be:
- With Him, the way of listening.
- With Him, the road to participation.
- With Him, the path of communion.
- With Him, the path of creativity.
- With Him, the path of hope.
The logo reflects the desire to walk in this GC XIX, with Him, towards our identity to be today the presence that the Holy Spirit is awakening in us. Let us allow Jesus to awaken our creativity and with it make us bearers of hope to a world so in need of reasons to hope.
What flavor does the logo leave me with? What has been awakened in me in this prayer? What does it invite me to?
