From August 26 to September 6, 2025, the Province of Spain-Italy carried out the transmission of the Determination of the XIX General Congregation (GC XIX), a moment of grace that welcomed the participation of sisters in Granada, Salamanca, San Sebastian and in the infirmaries of the province. The sisters who lived the GC XIX in Rome shared their experiences and the impulse of the Determination, generating spaces for dialogue, prayer and community discernment.
Illusion, joy, commitment and responsibility were the feelings that accompanied the Daughters of Jesus on this journey, the common thread of which is filiation. As Candida Maria de Jesus desired, each sister is called to recognize herself as a daughter of God and to resemble Jesus in her daily life, bringing her witness to a world that awaits the generous dedication of the Congregation.
The transmission took place in different parts of the province and was animated by three groups of sisters;
- Pakea Murua and Raquel Amigot on August 26 and 27 in the Community of Granada, on August 28 in the nursing communities of Granada and on August 29 in the nursing community of Malaga.
- Ana Zubiri, María de la O Martínez and Rosa Romo; shared on August 29 and 30 in San Sebastián and the San Sebastián Nursing Community and on September 6 with the Valladolid Nursing Community.
- Marian Cantalejo and Teresa Pinto did the same with the Salamanca community on August 28 and 30 and with the Salamanca Nursing Community on August 31.
The Provincial Superior, Maria del Mar Dominguez, who was able to participate in Granada and Salamanca, gave each sister the Determination, in a gesture of fraternity and availability to the will of God.

In each place, the sisters energized the meetings, sharing the process lived in Rome, the phases of GC XIX and the themes highlighted in the Spiritual Exercises guided by Francisco José Ruiz SJ. The community reflection opened the hearts of the participants, renewing the joy of living the consecration and the desire to walk together as a congregational family.
In each community the Determination was shared through times of reading, prayer, dialogue in groups and sharing. The experience allowed us to accept the call of GC XIX with audacity, realism and generosity, encouraging the communities to recreate their being, to encourage life and to seek together ways to give more life in service and shared mission.
The journey was enriched by the enlightenment received during GC XIX: the global view of our time and the world, the understanding of the Church and Religious Life, and the orientation on the mission based on sisterhood and fraternity. The teachings of José Ignacio García SJ, Cristina Inogés and Carmen Ros Nortes inspired the sisters to exercise leadership from humility, ethics, openness and hope, always seeking to harmonize firmness with tenderness and commitment with generosity.

The meetings were also marked by family gestures: the participation of junior sisters in Granada, the grateful memory of Marisa Matamala, the presence of Clara Echarte, the upcoming experience of a young woman in Almeria, and the celebration of the golden wedding anniversary of sisters Ana Cantalapiedra and Sofia Contreras. Each gesture strengthened the sense of belonging and the joy of walking together in the mission.
With this first step in Spain-Italy, the Congregation advances in the transmission of what was lived in GC XIX, opening paths of hope, fidelity and communion. The sisters and lay collaborators welcome the call to live filiation as a principle of life and action, ready to radiate the charism of St. Candida Maria de Jesus and to respond to the challenges of today’s world with creativity, dedication and a generous heart.
