It has been over a month since the Hijas de Jesus delegates gathered to begin the General Congregation: the Spiritual Exercises, the dialogues for the State of the Congregation, the election of the new General Government, and the treatment of matters. After all these weeks of work, sharing, and discernment, today we had a different space – a day of fellowship and walking together.
A splendid day awaited us in Gaeta, a beautiful city with a lot of history.

We visited different monuments and historical buildings, a blend of styles that brought us closer to the art of ancient eras.
The cathedral dedicated to the Assumption, the Angioino-Aragonese Castle from the 6th century, the Split Mountain, and the Turk’s cave, the Sanctuary of the Holy Trinity, built in the 11th century by Benedictine monks. (Legend has it that St. Philip Neri lived in the interior of the Split Mountain, finding shelter on a stone couch), and the countless corners of the city that leave no one unmoved.

It was an opportunity to enjoy and rest, contemplate and give thanks, and continue to deepen our fraternal bonds as Hijas de Jesus.
