The Hijas de Jesus continue to move towards the celebration of the 19th General Congregation. In the circular letter #44 of February 3, 2025, the Superior General, Graciela Francovig, announced the names of the members the Preparatory Commission who will work with her in the immediate preparation for the 19th General Congregation.
These sisters are:
- Dayse Marianela Agretti
- Raquel Amigot Goyena
- Emelinda Falsis Correa
- Altagracia Gonzalez Ventura (Iris)
On March 10, the Prep Com began its work in the Generalate. Its competencies are described in #16 of the Rules of the General Congregation. These are as followins::
- To select and to order the postulates presented by the Provincial Congregations to the General Congregation and the personal postulates sent directly to the General Congregation in accordance with the specified conditions and deadlines. If necessary, to synthesize them preserving the content of the postulates.
- To organize and synthesize, if necessary, the responses of the Provincial Congregations to other matters proposed by the General or Provincial Superiors.
- To prepare, if necessary, the preliminary reports on the topics likely to be discussed by the General Congregation and to prepare the material from the postulates and other proposed matters.
- To elaborate the working norms and to study organizational and informative aspects which the Superior General may entrust to her.
The Prep Com also proposes for the working procedures and hopes that this will be in the spirit of discernment. From such perspective, the Prep Com discerns and proposes what is the best approach and concrete dynamics for this XIX General Congregation.
The Superior General and the Sisters of the Preparatory Commission commenced this time of work with a heartfelt moment of prayer in the Rooms of St. Ignatius, a significant place for the Hijas de Jesus. They entrusted their work and also asked for the grace to be open and to be filled with the spirit of discernment before the task that lies ahead of them.
We invite everyone to pray for a fruitful work of the Prep Com in preparation for the General Congregation XIX.
