“It’s been a long time since we no longer walked alone, but with others and as a family.”

Nov 10, 2025 | Charismatic Family, Featured, lay people

On November 1, 2025, the Solemnity of All Saints, the Superior General, Graciela Francovig, sent a letter to all lay men and women united by the charism and spirituality of Mother Candida, inviting us to contemplate holiness in our daily lives and to continue to deepen the journey undertaken after the XIX General Congregation.

The call to holiness in everyday life

The letter opens with a reflection inspired by the feast of All Saints and the words of Pope Francis. Graciela reminds us that holiness is not a distant ideal, but a real possibility in the life of each person: in simple work, in the patience of each day, in the smiles that are offered in spite of fatigue. “There are saints next door,” he says, inviting us to recognize them and to desire to live with that same simplicity and depth.

Recalling that Baptism is the source of our Christian identity, the Superior General encourages each and every one of us to allow ourselves to be led by the Spirit, to lean on Him, especially in moments of weakness, and to look with confidence to the Crucified One. To “bear fruit from the grace of Baptism” means to choose God day by day, trusting that His love transforms us little by little.

On this feast of All Saints, Graciela turns her gaze to St. Candida Maria de Jesus, who knew how to discover God in the ordinary and respond to him with dedication and joy. Her life and her letters, she says, remain a living school of practical holiness, joyful service and love for the will of God.

Gratitude and shared path

Graciela expresses her gratitude to all the sisters, lay women and men who participated in the discernment process prior to the XIX General Congregation, recognizing the depth and richness of what has been lived during this time of listening and searching together. It also mentions that some communities have already carried out the transmission of the XIX GC to the laity, while others will live it soon, encouraging all to welcome this moment as an opportunity to continue growing in communion and shared mission.

“It has been a long time since we no longer walked alone, but with others and as a family,” she writes, underlining the communitarian horizon and synodality that mark our way of living the mission today.

A new educational horizon

The letter also refers to the Jubilee of educators (October 27 – November 2) and to the recent Apostolic Letter of Pope Leo XIV ( October 27 – November 2). Apostolic Letter of Pope Leo XIVemphasizing education as an act of love and hope, and as a way to heal the social fabric. In tune with the educational mission of the Daughters of Jesus, we are invited to renew our commitment to form people who are free, compassionate and peacemakers. We invite you to read the Letter of the Superior General in its entirety to deepen your understanding of each of these themes.
