Epiphany of the Lord

Jan 5, 2026 | Liturgia – oración, News

During the liturgical season of Christmas, this Sunday we celebrate the Epiphany, the manifestation of God to all peoples. The star that guided the Magi continues to shine today, inviting us to set out on a journey, to leave our familiar places and to recognize that God’s gift has no boundaries.

Epiphany reminds us that the mystery of Jesus is revealed to all and that, in Him, we are called to be part of the same Body, the same fraternity, the same dream of God for humanity.

We welcome the Word

For you are informed of what the grace of God has disposed of me for your profit,
namely, that the secret has been made known to me, as I wrote to you a short time ago.
Read my letter and you will appreciate how I understand the mystery of the Messiah:
in past generations it was not made known to men; now, however,
it has been revealed to his holy apostles and inspired prophets. It consists in this: that through the Good News
the heathen share in the inheritance and promises of the Messiah Jesus,
and are members of the same body. (Eph. 3:2-6)

St. Paul opens us to the heart of the Epiphany: the mystery hidden since ancient times is now clearly manifested. No one is left out. All are invited to share in the inheritance, the promise and the new life that flows from Jesus Christ.

The star that guides the Magi is a sign of this revelation: God allows himself to be found by those who seek him with a sincere heart, wherever they come from.

Determination illuminates our path

“Jesus Christ is the inexhaustible source of this fraternity that defines us and impels us.
We are urged, by vocation, to rebuild fraternity where bonds are broken and to build bridges of humanity.
This gift is a hope for the world.” (Determination 8)

Epiphany is not only contemplation; it is also mission.

If we are all members of the same body, we are called to live and proclaim a concrete fraternity, woven with simple gestures, closeness, reconciliation and openness to those who are different.

As Daughters of Jesus, we recognize that this call is part of our identity: to build bridges, to heal ties, to open paths of encounter where division and indifference seem to impose themselves.

Resonates in our lives

This celebration invites us to look beyond our personal, community and cultural boundaries. The star continues to shine and encourages us to walk together, knowing that the gift received is not only for us, but to be shared.

What bridges of fraternity and humanity can I build in the reality in which I live??

May the Epiphany renew in us the joy of knowing that we are part of a universal fraternity, sent to be a sign of hope for the world.
