Oct 24, 2025 | Andean America, Argentina, Bolivia, CG XIX, Colombia, News, NewsCGXIX

As we shared a few weeks ago, once the XIX General Congregation was over, a time of grace began in each province that received it. During the months of July and August, the communities of Bolivia, Argentina and Colombia experienced the meetings for the transmission of the Determination of General Congregation XIX, a time of grace that allowed them to approach together this new call of the Spirit. In each country, the experience took place in a family atmosphere, with simplicity, depth and a sincere openness to what God wants to continue to accomplish in us.

The meetings were held on July 25 and 26 in Bolivia, August 9 and 10 in Argentina, and August 23 and 24 in Colombia. The transmission in Argentina featured the presence of the Sr. Graciela Francovig, Superior Generalwho generously accompanied and encouraged.

In each provincial reality, resonances were shared, the questions that arose from the reading of the text and the desires for the future that arose in the hearts. With a simple methodology, spaces were dedicated to personal prayer and group work, seeking to understand and pray the Determination as a living word that touches the root of our being Daughters of Jesus.

Bolivia

In Bolivia, the transmission was lived with joy and commitment. The sisters welcomed the text “with a desire to know what God wants for us,” as they said. by splitting each part of the Determination into groups. As expressed by Rommy VillarroelRommy Villarroel, “were two days of being in contact with the Determination, which puts us on the way; together we undertake the search for a horizon in Bolivia from our reality. The question remains in the background: What do you want from us, Lord? How do you want us in Bolivia?

Argentina

In Argentina, the atmosphere was one of listening, dialogue and communion. As Celina Garcia reported, it was “A meeting of sisters, a time of grace that renews the confidence that we go together and that we are all important. The experience awakened gratitude and the commitment to continue walking in fidelity: “I feel that this new time invites us to return to the origin, to rediscover the root of our vocation, and from there to give new life to the mission we share with others”.
Other sisters expressed that this transmission was “a rich experience of fraternity”, where the determinations were received “as a confirmation of what the Lord is speaking to us on a daily basis”. For Nina Sotelo, it was also “a proof of fraternal trust in communicating to us what was lived in the General Congregation, a response to what the world of today needs, reinforcement of unity and hope to continue seeking what God wants for our good”.

Colombia

In Colombia, the experience was marked by the beauty of the environment and inner depth. Surrounded by nature, the sisters lived the transmission as “a transforming experience that allowed us to reconnect with our identity as Daughters of Jesus”, in the words of Ana Apolonia Mendoza Lopez (Pola).
It was a time of vocational renewal, which invited us to “reflect the face of Jesus as a living expression of filial love and, from there, to be sent to live as sisters”. The fraternal climate, listening and communion gave strength to assume the commitment to cultivate concrete gestures of fraternity and hope. Teresa Ramirez added that it was “an experience of full conversion”, which encouraged us to live our vocation recognizing the gifts we have received and embracing our fragilities in faith, so that the Spirit may continue to guide our congregational life.

Thus, from the diverse realities of Andean America, the same voice of gratitude, hope and commitment resounded. The Determination was received as a call to return to the Gospel, to recreate our filiation and fraternity from the essential, and to keep alive the desire to continue weaving together the steps that the Spirit invites us to take.
