FI Youth on the road to the Jubilee in Rome

Jul 2, 2025 | News, Young FI

During these months, the young people of the Daughters of Jesus around the world have been enthusiastically preparing to live together the Jubilee of the Youth in Rome, in this Jubilee Year 2025. Each month since the Jubilee Year began, FI Youth, from January to June, have shared inspiring videos with messages of hope, encouraging all of us, especially other young people, to dream, build, and move forward, even in the midst of difficulties. They will continue this project until the end of the year.

In addition, each province has lived this time of preparation for the Jubilee of Youth in its own way, organizing meetings, moments of prayer, dynamics and also pilgrimages together with their dioceses, joining the call of the Church to set out on the road.

The beauty of this process is that all the young people have been preparing themselves, regardless of whether or not they are able to travel to Rome. Because, as Pope Francis reminds us, the first pilgrimage is that of the heart. It is the inner journey of allowing oneself to be touched by God, to walk with others, to allow oneself to be moved by hope and to respond to the challenges of life.

Thus, in every corner where there is a community of the Daughters of Jesus, the young people have lived this experience of preparing their hearts for the Jubilee, as pilgrims of hope.

What is the Youth Jubilee?

The Youth Jubilee will be one of the major international gatherings of the Holy Year 2025, convoked by Pope Francis under the theme “Pilgrims of Hope”. It will be held in Rome from July 28 to August 3, 2025.It will bring together some 700,000 young people from all the dioceses, movements and congregations of the world to share faith, live communion and renew hope in the midst of the challenges of today’s world.

This Jubilee will offer celebrations, pilgrimages, vigils, moments of prayer, catechesis and cultural encounters. It will also be an opportunity to gain the Jubilee indulgence by passing through the Holy Door of St. Peter’s and to renew the commitment of young people as protagonists of the Church and builders of a more human, fraternal and just world.

Monthly videos: a preparation in hope

A few months ago, we shared that part of this path would be through a short monthly video, under the title taken from a phrase of Paulo Freire: “The verb of hope is not to hope but to hope”. By means of these messages they would go along the way, with small lights of hope. Let’s remember the messages that the FI youth left us on this path. You can see each video in the link of each month.

  • JanuaryYoung FI members, we want to join this “Pilgrimage of Hope” of the Jubilee 2025. We want to help young people, lay people and Daughters of Jesus to walk together to “go through the Jubilee door”.
  • FebruaryHope is to rise up. Let the Lord lift you up and fill you with hope.
  • MarchHope is to pursue a dream. To dream big and to let God accompany those desires (link).
  • AprilTo hope is to build. To build bridges, to rebuild what is broken and to collaborate in the civilization of love.
  • MayHope is not giving up. To persevere, to stand firm when it seems that we can’t go on, knowing that God never gives up on us.
  • JuneHope is to go forward. In the face of difficulties and stumbling blocks, as did M. Candida, to get back on track. Candida did, to get back on the road.

In the coming days, we will be sharing how each province has lived this time of preparation: their testimonies, celebrations, pilgrimages and meetings, in a single universal heart on the road to Rome.

Let us continue to pray together that this Jubilee of Youth may be a fruitful and transforming time for our Church and for the world.

Let’s hope together!
