This eighth day has been very special, finally young IFs from the Dominican Republic, Argentina, Bolivia, Spain and Taiwan have joined together and have traveled together the Route of Mother Candida in Rome, in addition to continue living meetings within the context of the Jubilee of the Youth.
Route of Mother Candida in Rome
The morning began in Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere, with a moment of contemplation and prayer with the image of “Jesus of the Street”, from the Community of St. Egidio. Then. Then, in the Franciscan church, they recalled the moment when Mother Candida strongly defended the Ignatian spirituality of the Congregation against Father Panadero.
The tour concluded in Piazza Mastei, where they read excerpts from letters that Mother Candida wrote from Rome, and ended singing together: “In Jesus we have everything”.

Penitential Day at Circo Massimo
In the afternoon, they participated in the Penitential Day, one of the most impressive moments of the Jubilee. Thousands of young people from all over the world, in a climate of peace, respect and profound silence, received the Sacrament of Reconciliation in many languages. Despite the strong heat, the atmosphere was one of gratuitousness and welcome: there was no lack of water of mercy!

Meeting of Spaniards in San Pedro
The day continued with a beautiful Jubilee Gathering of Spaniards in St. Peter’s Square. A prayer with the Word of God, songs, dance, testimonies and a very heartfelt Eucharist, shared with joy and communion.
After dinner in the same square, still energized, many were encouraged to continue walking: Colosseum, Fontana di Trevi…. Rome continues to fill with steps of hope!

A grateful heart
These days have been intense, full of experiences that mark and transform. FI International Youth is growing in communion, joy, depth and commitment.
