During the months of August and September 2025, the East Asia Province experienced the transmission meetings of the Determination of the XIX General Congregation in all its countries: Taiwan, Philippines, China and Vietnam. These meetings were spaces of communion, listening and reflection, where the sisters were able to approach the Determination in a profound way, integrate the experience of those who participated in Rome and discern together the steps to follow in the next six years. The Provincial accompanied each of the meetings, guaranteeing closeness, guidance and unity in the transmission.
Taiwan – August 2 and 3, 2025
Twenty sisters participated and the animators were Cecilia Tchong, Sofia Chang and Teresa Li. The day included the presentation of the Determination in parts, time for personal reading, reflection groups and community sharing with the Word of God. At the end, the golden jubilee of Maria Wu and Teresa Hsu was celebrated with Eucharist and dinner, a moment of gratitude and celebration for the gift of vocation.
Sofia Chang shared, “I think this determination is very clear and the language is concise and easy to understand, and I feel that we can start taking action immediately.”
Teresita Tsai added, “I appreciate the experience of participating in the transmission. It allowed me to appreciate the challenges of the process and the guidance of the Holy Spirit in the whole congregation.”
Rosa Nien remarked, “I am moved by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. This determination relates very well to that of GC XVIII, enlivening our desire to deepen and become true Daughters of Jesus in mission.”
Philippines – Training House, Quezon City, August 23-24, 2025
Ten sisters participated and Magda Zhang energized the meeting. It was a time to share news from other communities, receive gifts and recognize the identity of Daughters of Jesus as a special gift and a call to fraternity and responsibility.
Francisca Huang said, “Our name is beautiful; our identity is a special blessing. We are witnesses to God’s work in our vulnerability and proclaim the joy of being daughters.”
Cecilia Zhang and Teresita Nguyen, postulants, reflected, “Recognizing and living with humility our identity as daughters of God invites us to care for the needs of marginalized brothers and sisters and to live fraternity in the community.”



China – September 13-14, 2025
Twenty-eight sisters participated, with Margie Chen and Sofia Chang animating the meeting. Pilar Liu shared: “It is a transmission of Love… these words impacted me deeply. We urgently need to live this charism of selfless love and connection with God.”
Jesusa Zang added: “The meetings allowed me to get to know the sisters better and understand each one’s apostolic work. The close living together fostered unity and mutual support.”
Mary Zhao emphasized: “The content of this determination is simple yet structured, approaching contemplation in action. It invites us to return to the source of our lives, filial love, and to be courageous women and bearers of hope.”
Vietnam – September 29 and 30, 2025
Eleven sisters participated, animated by Margie Chen and Teresa Li. Fatima Wang noted, “Rebuilding fraternity where chains have been broken… Jesus Christ is the inexhaustible source of this fraternity. I felt God’s grace renewing my hope.”
Mary Le Ho Thi Tham expressed, “The transmission showed me the vitality of our congregation and the need to present a new face to today’s world. I commit myself to let the charism shine and give witness to the infinite love of the Father.”
Cecilia Cao Nu Bang Tam added: “I face the reality of the community with humility, trusting that the Father guides us to build fraternity with love and dedication.”



Walking with hope that follows
These meetings allowed the sisters of East Asia to integrate the richness of GC XIX, drawing closer to the source of their vocation and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It was a time of communion, discernment and shared hope. Sonship, fraternity and commitment to the mission were lived as fundamental axes for the next six years, strengthening the identity of Daughters of Jesus and the generous response to the needs of the Church and the world. Each testimony, each gesture of fraternity and each shared prayer reflect the vitality of this congregational family, ready to walk united and to be a sign of hope in its context.
