Meeting of the general government and provincial governments

Communion is woven in the encounter, in the gestures that become bridges that unite us.

A few days earlier, the Superior General had summoned the five provincial governments and the delegate of Mozambique for a meeting in which she could share the General Government’s work plan for the six-year period. The date chosen was November 13.

Although the meeting was virtual, the joy of meeting, of recognizing each other from the fraternity and the office that we now have in the Congregation was not lost on us. The effort to adjust the schedules between the three continents to make it possible to be together, united in the same spirit of communion and co-responsibility and overcoming the difficulty of having different languages, was also a source of mutual gratitude.

They were three hours of intense listening, with brief silences and spaces to express the resonances of each topic discussed.

The objectives of the meeting were:

• To present the general government plan for the six-year period 2025-2031, based on the Determination, in an open manner, in order to discuss it and welcome feedback and suggestions.

• To present the Statutes of Economic Administration, already approved by GC XIX and revised by the General Government. The General Treasurer explained the process followed to reach this point. She also presented the document in broad outline.

• To report on the formation plans developed by the formators and the youth ministry team during the previous six-year period, which have already been revised and approved by this General Government.

• To share what movements are taking place in the life of each province, starting from the Determination and its implementation, vocation ministry and the adaptation of the apostolic presences.
  

Gratitude was the feeling that was spontaneously shared in the resonances expressed. Gratitude for being a project open to welcome the suggestions that were contributed in the interventions and everything that life can bring of change, flexibility or novelty. A plan that brings light to the road we must travel in the provinces, accompanied by the General Government. An itinerary that we will make together to land the GC XIX Determination. A great harmony expressed in the word care that also applies to the responsibility of administering the goods of the Congregation well and involving all of us in the sustainability of the body in mission.

We note with joy that there is much vitality in our provinces, that the initial impulse of the Determination encourages us and impels us to take care of the vocational dynamism that is taking place in all the provinces and fills us with hope.
