From July 23 to 31, the meeting of Provincials of the Daughters of Jesus Congregation, convened by the General Government, is being held in Rome. These are days of work, prayer, and fraternal sharing, during which the Congregation once again brings together those who assist in the governance of each province to reflect together on the path they have traveled and the one that lies ahead.

Four of the five provincials are participating in this gathering for the first time; it is a space designed for them to grow together in the service of governance and in caring for the congregation as a whole. During these days, they are delving deeper into the Constitutions and other documents that help nurture and strengthen the well-being of the Congregation, and they are discerning together how best to advance the calls of the Determination and to support the life and mission of the sisters, communities, ministries, and projects.

General and Provincial Governments

Along with the General Government, composed of the Superior General , Sr. Graciela Francovig, and the General Councilors, Sr. Emelinda Falsis Correa, Sr. María Rosa Espinosa Calvo, Sr. Iris Altagracia González Ventura, and Sr. Magda Zhang Xiao, the five Provincial Superiors are also participating:

  • H. Rommy Sandra Villarroel Vargas — Andean America
  • H. Jocelyn Salomo — East Asia
  • Sister Regina Célia de Oliveira — Brazil-Caribbean
  • Sister María del Mar Domínguez López — Spain-Italy-Mozambique
  • Sister María Leoly Quitorio — Indian-Pacific Region

These days in Rome are also an opportunity to continue building communion among the provinces of the Congregation, through love and shared service. In the coming weeks, we will share more about how this journey of leadership in service to the life and mission of the Daughters of Jesus around the world continues.
