A team of teachers from Elche and Malaga have had the opportunity to live the experience of making the Spiritual Exercises in San Sebastián from July 1 to 6, in a wonderful setting, surrounded by nature. The team consisted of 10 teachers and 3 religious responsible for accompanying us in this experience.
All of us arrived with much uncertainty about the challenge we faced regarding silence, prayer and personal accompaniment. The first day was for adjustment and was the hardest for everyone, but once settled in this dynamic we felt much better and eager to benefit from the experience.
The day was divided into several blocks — 2 moments of common prayer to start and finish the day, 2 sessions of orientation for our prayer afterwards, and a formation session before lunch. In addition we had a brief moment every day to individually share our current experience with one of the sisters who were guiding us.
We have also had the opportunity to share the Eucharist with the endearing group of sisters living in the infirmary.
All members of the group agree that the experience has brought about growth both spiritually and personally, as it has been easy to implement the guidelines given us for our daily routines through contemplation and prayer.
We hope that this experience lived in San Sebastian with the Lord may mark a before and after in our life and be perceived through its fruits in our daily life.
