“It is my joy to see young children come to our school to receive Christian education”
The Blessed Antonia Bandres Foundation imbibes the same spirit as it tries to help students fulfill their dream of an integral education in the Hijas de Jesus Schools. The Foundation makes an effort to help students by providing scholarship. For 2016-2017 academic year, the Foundation has 94 scholars from our schools in Iloilo – St. James Catholic High School Maasin, Colegio de la Inmaculada Concepcion Pototan, St. Joseph School-Hijas de Jesus Guimaras and Saint Candida School – Hijas de Jesus Estancia. Recently, I have the joy of meeting them personally and listening to their sacred stories – stories which are filled with life and love for their families, with ardent desires to finish their studies and with hope-filled dreams for a brighter future for themselves and for others. Deep in the hearts of the scholars is a sense of gratitude and the promise to do well in their studies.
All the scholars are happy in the schools where they belong. They appreciate the loving dedication of their teachers, the friendship offer by their classmates, the value formation and the vitality of the school activities. The encounter with the scholars is an affirming experience of the Hijas de Jesus Schools fulfilling the desires of our Mother Foundress, St. Candida Maria de Jesus. I am truly grateful to each scholar who generously shared their time. This coming together of the scholars would not be possible without the collaboration of some Faculty, Staff and Sisters. Thank you and may we continue to work together as collaborators in achieving every child’s hope for a better future through Christian education.
