On February 20, Graciela, our Superior General, traveled from Rome to Madrid to begin the second stage of her canonical visit to Spain. The meetings with the communities have come to an end.
Graciela, accompanied by the General Councilor Sonia Regina, began her journey in the Santa María-Carrús community in Elche.
The path continued through the north of the country, at the “Nuestra Señora de Aránzazu” Nursing community in San Sebastián and the community of País Vasco – Navarra.
In Catalonia, she has learned about the networking that they carry out in Alcarrás and, also, the “Hijas de Jesús” house in Badalona.
Back in Madrid, she passed through the Community of Usera. We left it there in the previous post.
Graciela’s next stop was at the Provincial House in Madrid. Here, in addition to meeting the Daughters of Jesus, she was also able to talk with the lay personnel who work in the offices.
The penultimate destination has been, once again, Castilla y León. The Daughters of Jesus of Burgos, on the one hand, and those of Segovia, on the other, joyfully received the canonical visit of the Superior General.
In all the cities where she has passed, Graciela has greeted the Management Teams, educators and students of the educational centers of the Jesuitinas Foundation that the Daughters of Jesus have in Spain. This has also been the case in Malaga, where she has visited the sisters of the “Santa María” community and the Gamarra school.
The canonical visit to the Daughters of Jesus of Spain-Italy ends here, but there are still a few days left in which she will meet with the local Superiors, with the Provincial Superior and her Council, with the Jesuitinas Educational Foundation, and with FASFI.
We remember Graciela’s words before beginning her visit: “My great wish and main objective in this visit are to LISTEN and KNOW”. Surely it has been fulfilled.
