A week before celebrating the Day of Consecrated Life, we would like to share and thank you for a gift that comes to us from the International Union of Superiors General (UISG), which this year celebrates 60 years of journey, communion and service in the Church and in the world.
60 years walking together, in the key of hope
The UISG presents the documentary video “Consecrated Life. A hope that transforms”, made on the occasion of this significant anniversary. Born in the context of the renewal promoted by the Second Vatican Council, the UISG has been and continues to be a space of encounter and communion among Superiors General from all over the world. Deeply rooted in the Church and open to a prophetic voice capable of reading the signs of the times.
Through testimonies and diverse voices, the documentary shows how this global network of consecrated women today translates into concrete gestures of accompaniment, service and care, sharing charisms and responding to the great challenges of our time.
A consecrated life that transforms the world
From the existential peripheries to the care of creation, from the commitment to justice and peace to the fight against human trafficking, the documentary portrays a consecrated life that is alive, incarnated and on the move. In a world marked by crises and divisions, this shared experience becomes a true music of communion, fidelity and hope, offered to the Church and to all humanity.
As Daughters of Jesus, we gratefully join in this celebration and give thanks for the silent and constant work of the UISG, for its service of animation, listening and articulation of women’s consecrated life at the global level.
The Daughters of Jesus are active in the UISG. Our Superior General, Graciela Francovig, was re-elected vice-president in 2025, highlighting the presence and participation of the congregation in international religious life, focused on education and evangelization with a charism of joy, simplicity, trust in God and a family spirit in its apostolates, following in the footsteps of St. Candida Maria de Jesus. The congregation actively participates in UISG assemblies and discernments, sharing its experience and vision in the context of global religious life. They reflect the commitment of the synodal Church, seeking renewal and service in complex contexts, and strengthening ties among women religious around the world.
We invite you to watch the video, which can be viewed in several languages by activating the automatic subtitles. Let us allow ourselves to be touched by this hope that transforms, renews and encourages us to continue walking together.
