June 29, feast day of Sts. Peter and Paul, neighborhood of Ventilla in Madrid, San Francisco Javier and San Luis Gonzaga Parish of the Jesuits. Eight in the evening, Mass of the day, Seve, the parish priest (Severino Lázaro sj) presides over the Eucharist with Pedro Mendoza sj and Pablo Guerrero sj as concelebrants and Sergio Gadea sj serving as deacon.
It is the parish Mass on an ordinary day, but today there are many more people. In addition to the parishioners, nearly all of them women, there were members of CLC, companions from TUP of Comillas, sisters from other congregations, Jesuit friends and a large group of Daughters of Jesus from the communities of Madrid.
Silvia Rozas Barrero has renewed for a year her vows of “chastity, poverty, and obedience, in the Congregation of the Daughters of Jesus, with the intention of living perpetually in it, understanding all things according to its Constitutions.” Provincial Superior M. Carmen Martín fi received her vows.
It has been a beautiful, profound, simple, humble, touching celebration…
Of St. Peter and St. Paul, it was emphasized that they were impetuous men, of strong character and fragile … But men passionate about Jesus and his work for the Kingdom, with their entire persons … So we also prayed for Silvia and she said her YES.
5 of July, Navafria (Segovia), camp of Alcor (Alcórpolis), more than 200 people, between children and monitors … day of Fr. San José Herranz, sj, who helped M. Candida so much in the foundation of the Congregation.
Between the patio, the pine trees, the house, seeking the shade … the “camp” chapel … Fernando Mateo, parish priest in Segovia who looked after the pastoral needs of the school when it was still there, presides over the Eucharist.
All the children and monitors of the camp and a group of Daughters of Jesus from the communities of Madrid and Segovia attended.
Esther Sanz Martinez and Gemma Torres Bervel renewed for a year their vows of “chastity, poverty, and obedience, in the Congregation of the Daughters of Jesus, with the intention of living perpetually in it, understanding all things according to its Constitutions.” Our Provincial Superior M. Carmen Martín fi received their vows.
It has been a precious celebration, simple, animated, and full of wonder.
With the Gospel of the Mass of M. Candida, which is also the one of next Sunday, the great value of what is small and of putting and letting Jesus be the center of our life was emphasized; the little star that dwells and shines in our heart. So we also prayed for Esther and Gemma and they pronounced their YES.
Now Silvia is in the Work Camp in Piedras Redondas (Almería) and Esther and Gemma continue in the camp of Alcor in Navafría (Segovia). May they proclaim Jesus to others with their service and dedication, and help them to meet Him and become happy.
