The Meeting of Provincial Superiors, held in Rome from July 23 to 31 and convened by the General Government, has come to a close. These were days of work, prayer, and fraternal sharing, during which the five Provincial Superiors of the Congregation, together with the General Government, deepened their understanding of the service of governance and the care of the Congregation as a whole.

At the end of the gathering, we wanted to ask them what they’re taking away in their hearts after these days spent in fellowship. Here are their responses to two questions: What is on your heart as we gather here for this meeting of provincials? What blessings have you received?

Brother Rommy Villarroel — Provincial of Andean America

For me, this gathering and meeting meant seeing the entire Congregation in a different light—from the perspective of provincial service—and a deep commitment to helping “preserve and nurture the well-being of the Congregation.” To feel that I am not alone on this journey and that I am not the one who began it, but rather am called to continue walking together. This feeling that unites us—prayer as the bond that unites us. I am deeply grateful to the Lord for the abundance of life He gives us in so many parts of the world where we live and offer our lives as Daughters of Jesus; grateful to feel embraced by the Congregation’s roots and committed to embracing it in turn, so that I may offer the very best that the Lord has given me as a Daughter and a sister.

Brother Jocelyn Salomo — Provincial of East Asia

This gathering has not only provided me with guidance and criteria for strengthening the service entrusted to me and for promoting the implementation of the Resolution of the XIX General Chapter; it has also reminded me that service in government is, above all, a grace: to participate in the Lord’s Paschal Mystery.

I am leaving with a renewed sense of the bond between us—feeling that we are truly companions to one another—and with the certainty, confirmed once again, of God’s faithful presence, no matter what happens.

I am deeply grateful for everything I have experienced and to each of the sisters present at the gathering. I return to the place where I was sent with confidence, hope, and a renewed desire to continue serving in accordance with the Gospel.

Sister Regina Célia de Oliveira — Provincial of Brazil-Caribbean

The Provincials’ Meeting was a time of profound learning, sharing, and fellowship with our Congregation. I return filled with hope and encouragement, keeping in mind and in my heart that the mission belongs to Him and that I am merely an instrument in His hands. May my trust always be in Him, and not in my own strength.

Sister María del Mar Domínguez — Provincial of Spain, Italy, and Mozambique

I carry in my heart the richness of this gathering, an experience that has helped me broaden my horizons and lift my gaze beyond our provincial boundaries. These have been days of true inspiration and encouragement for the journey ahead, during which I have been able to savor the life of the universal Body and experience unity and communion through simple, free, and fraternal sharing. I return committed to the task entrusted to me, renewed and with clear guidance to continue bringing the Resolution of the 19th General Chapter to life in our province.

The meeting of the provincial superiors with the General Government has been a very enriching experience for me. I have felt deeply united with the universal body of the Congregation, reflecting on the journey we have taken, embracing the roots of our charism and our congregational life, and looking to the future with renewed hope. We have received guidance, tools, and resources that will help us better respond to the mission entrusted to us as the provincial government.

I give thanks to God; to our Superior General, Sister Graciela; to the General Councilors; to the community of the Curia; and to all the sisters who have accompanied us with their prayers. I also remember with gratitude our Mother Candida and the Virgin Mary, whose presence and protection we feel close to us.

Through prayer and so many gestures of kindness, we have felt deeply supported. Strengthened by this, we continue walking together, with confidence and hope.

One body, one path

Five voices, one body. In each testimony, the same certainty resonates: that the journey is made together, sustained by prayer and confident that the mission belongs to the One we follow. With this renewed grace, the Provincials return to their provinces to continue accompanying the life and mission of the sisters, communities, works, and projects of the Congregation.
