This morning, Silvina Pagura, a Daughter of Jesus of 42 years who lived her illness as a process of surrender to the Lord, died in La Plata. The provincial secretary of America Andina, Teresa Ramirez FI, shares the experience lived today:
The educational community of “Colegio Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes” has just gathered to pray around the Easter of our sister. At 10:00 a.m. we were all gathered in the courtyard.
It was a very emotional and BEAUTIFUL moment, which made us really feel family of Mother Candida. Maria Angeles Iturrioz and I, who had just arrived, were able to join and greet them, and also share a brief message appreciating this kind gesture.
The students were in a respectful and profound silence; some recalled Antoñita’s last words, when she gave her life to the Father. In addition to other very appropriate participations for the moment … The directress, Adriana Cortez, was very moved, as well as many of the teachers, since Silvina worked in this center and made her final vows here. Just last year, she was here in a meeting with educators, and they remember with her with real affection. Blessed be God for everything.
This was the photo placed next to those of Mother Candida and Antoñita, very beautifully placed. The mystery of life and death unites us to Jesus, for in Him we live and move and have our being, and in Him we also die and rise to LIFE IN ABUNDANCE. We thanked all the Sisters and people who, in these 6 long years of her illness, accompanied her and gave their lives to help her in every way they could.
We stay in fraternal communion and with all the Sisters who have gone before us. Tomorrow at noon we leave Salta to return to Cochabamba, grateful for everything we have lived, and that Graciela was able to accompany her last days. No doubt Silvina as well as her family was waiting for her. May the dead and Risen Christ, Foundation of our faith, console her and all of us.
A big hug,
Tere Ramirez FI
