On April 2, the school Mare de Déu de l’Assumpció, Badalona (Barcelona) sent the information of its adhesion to the Global Education Pact (PEG).
After reflection with the teaching and non-teaching staff, they expressed their desire to be part of this global transformation in which education is the fundamental force. Mª Dolores Pelegrina, director of the school, sends some images of the sessions held, both of the presentation of the PEG and the reflection of stage II.
Thirteen days later, we shared the satisfaction of Santa María School, Elche (Alicante) when it announced that it had joined the Global Education Pact. They have taken it on as an initiative promoted by Pope Francis with the aim of transforming education and building a more just and sustainable future for all.
Both are schools of the Jesuitinas Educational Foundation of Spain.
“We believe that education is a fundamental pillar for personal and social development, which has the power to transform lives and communities; therefore, we are deeply committed to its principles and values, convinced that this adhesion will strengthen our educational mission and contribute to building a better world.”
says Margarita Durá, director of the Colegio de Elche.
On behalf of the faculty and staff, he presented some of the initiatives that are being carried out at the Center to fulfill the commitment:
- Promoting a culture of peace and respect. We are working to create an inclusive and welcoming school environment, where all students feel valued and respected, regardless of their origin, religion, gender or any other personal condition.
- Education for sustainable development. We incorporate content related to environmental care, sustainability and the fight against climate change into our educational curriculum. In addition, we promote sustainable practices in the Center’s day-to-day operations, such as energy and water saving, recycling and reuse of materials.
- Education for global citizenship. We foster in our students the knowledge and understanding of different cultures and perspectives, as well as the development of values such as solidarity, empathy and social responsibility.
- Educational innovation focused on listening to the voice of the students: We implement innovative educational methodologies and resources that favor active, collaborative and personalized learning for our students.
- Strengthening the educational community: We work in close collaboration with families, teachers and school staff, as well as with other community entities, to create a network of mutual support that favors the integral development of our students.
The II Meeting of Educators of the school of M. Candida, held on April 26 and 26. Candida, held on April 26 and 27, showed the profound harmony of this commitment with Our Own Way of Educating.
Congratulations to these two centers, to their educators and educational communities, to the entire network, because with you, 82% of the M. Candida schools around the world have already joined the Pact. Candida schools around the world have already joined the Pact. The Pact also unites us.
