“In the end, God will provide, and have great confidence in Him, who is the Father who cares for all.”
St. Candida – Letter 139, February 1898
Day 1 of theTriduum in preparation for the Feast of Mother Candida in the Jubilee of Hope
“Entrust all your cares to Him, for He cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7
Mother Candida repeats again and again this certainty that springs from her faith: God will provide. She said this in letters written in the midst of difficulties, when logic invited her to give up. But she knew that God is a Father who takes care of everyone, even when everything seems to go wrong.
“Today I feel cared for. I feel confident.” This is what we would like to say every morning when we wake up, when we open our agenda and face challenges. It would be another way of living, another way of walking, lighter, brighter.
Believing in a God who cares, who sows patiently and does not overwhelm, is a way of being in the world with hope. It invites us to look up and discover that we are not alone.
And what about us, can we live like this? In the midst of the fast pace, daily worries and responsibilities, we are also invited to stop and ask ourselves:
Do I really trust God to take care of me today?
What “concern” do I need to place in your hands to walk with more hope?
Go back to the heart of Mother Candida, her letters are a living testimony of hope. Read it in its entirety here:
