Easter Monday : Caring with gratuity

Mar 29, 2026 | Liturgia – oración, News

Yesterday we began Holy Week with Palm Sunday, entering into it with Jesus, allowing ourselves to be touched by his humility. Today, Easter Monday, we are invited to dwell on what is essential: to love without measure and to care tenderly for the fragile.

In Betania, a gesture of love fills the whole house with perfume. When someone truly loves, good spreads and reaches much more than we can imagine. This is true love: it does not calculate, it does not measure, it does not hold back. It is a love that knows how to stop, as Jesus did, always attentive to those who needed “Life”.

Today, in the midst of our world, we too are called to incarnate this concrete and gratuitous love. A love that responds to the reality that is urging us to understand ourselves in a new way as Daughters of Jesus (GC XIX), a love that does not pass by in the face of pain, that is involved and caring.

Therefore, the Word and life ask us with simplicity and depth:
Where am I called today to care more freely ?

Perhaps the answer becomes an everyday gesture: a phone call, a message to someone who is having a hard time. A good deed done in silence, without expecting recognition. Small gestures that, like the perfume in Bethany, fill the house of the world with new life.

And from there, we pray together: Lord, make us people who care.
