On July 31, the feast day of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the Brazil-Caribbean Province of the Daughters of Jesus experienced a day filled with grace and gratitude in the Dominican Republic. On this day of great significance for the entire Ignatian family, Elizabeth Pujols took a decisive step on her vocational journey by beginning her novitiate, surrounded by the love of the community. Also present were Jennifer Castillo, FI, and Paola Mariano, FI, who had just made their first vows in the congregation on June 8.

Words from the Novice Mistress

The novice mistress, Arisleyda Rincón, fi, shared the following words with the province about the significance of this moment:

Dear sisters:

Today we give thanks to God for the step Elizabeth has taken in beginning her novitiate. We are grateful for the desire that He Himself has planted in her heart to respond to Him with joy, freedom, and generosity. Today we have witnessed that “yes” that continues to make the Lord’s call fruitful.

On this feast day of St. Ignatius, we give thanks to God for the gift of our vocation, for being Daughters and sisters called to walk together.

May the Lord continue to sustain our faithfulness and grant that we may always remain closely united, supporting one another with love and prayer.

Have a happy and blessed day, everyone!

We continue to support young people on their vocational journey

We accompany Elizabeth with the prayers of the entire Congregation as she begins this new phase of her life. We trust that the Lord will continue to make her “yes” fruitful with joy, freedom, and generosity.

Likewise, we join the Province of Brazil-Caribbean in giving thanks for the gift of vocation and for each sister who, through her response, makes the charism of Saint Candida present in the world.

We continue to respond to the call set forth in the Resolution of the 19th General Chapter, “accompanying young women in their discernment, helping them to clarify the dream that God has for their lives and to discover that it can be fulfilled by becoming Daughters of Jesus.”
