This April 2, Easter Monday, a beautiful day dawned in Bucaramanga, with a cool and radiant climate. Full of joy for the Easter celebration, to renew once again the triumph of Life over all death, from different experiences lived in this time, in the Community …
The Superior of our Community gathered us in the Chapel of the house to have a brief period of prayer with a strong congregational sense, experiencing that vibrant union of hearts scattered throughout the world …
Expectant in the face of the convocation of the 18th GC, we began by remembering that Good Friday of 1869, imagining Juana Josefa in that deep spiritual experience that marked her life; listening to a paschal song and then Circular 94 of Maria Inez, peacefully, in a climate of profound listening, and feeling that it was necessary to reread it and savor it more.
Thankful for the gift of the charism received, for the vocation of each Daughter of Jesus, for the opportunity that on this day of Easter retreat the “Colegio Reina de la Paz” had all the educational and administrative personnel meditating on the mystery of the Resurrection and of the Rosarillo, we celebrated a beautiful Eucharist at about 11:15 am, remembering together that a day like today 149 years ago, we were born in the heart of M. Candida … and, of course, long before that, in the heart of God, when that Good Friday in Juana Josefa’s prayer the Spirit made known to her before the altarpiece of Rosarillo that it was the Father’s will to found the Religious Congregation of the Daughters of Jesus, years later her great charismatic family.
A small portion of members of the great family of St. Candida in Colombia: Daughters of Jesus of the community in this country and educators of the “Reina de la Paz” [Queen of Peace], we joined the rest of the sisters and brothers of the great charismatic family dispersed in 19 countries of the world to put the next 18th GC into the hands of God the Father, from the first day of its convocation, remembering the meaning of a GC as indicated by the CFI.
A big day in our family history! Thanking the Risen Christ for this moment and asking him through the intercession of Mary, that like Her we may know how to receive his word in all this time, as one who listens to the melody of God and reproduces the notes of that same melody.
We ended, after sharing fraternally some paschal experiences imploring God, through the intercession of Mary, with this
PRAYER FOR THE 18TH GC
Virgin of expectation, fidelity and service,
of poverty, love and silence,
of the new creation by the Spirit,
Give us new eyes to know that the
Risen Christ and the strength of his Spirit,
is in the midst of those who form the charismatic family
of St. Cándida Ma. de Jesús,
in this journey towards the next GC.
Help us so that Jesus, the Incarnate Son,
who died and rose again be the one to lead us
in this new period begun on April 2.
Mary accompanies our search to discern:
TO WHAT ARE YOU CALLING US, LORD?
WHAT DO YOU WANT US TO DO?
Help us to be attuned to the Spirit of God,
rejecting what does not come from Him.
Dispose us in all this time, to
that prayerful reading of the Word as well as of all
the suggested texts … to live the attitudes of:
– UNION AND SEARCH IN COMMON
– TO EXERT ALL OUR EFFORT AND FOR EACH ONE TO GIVE WHAT WE CAN IN OUR PERSONAL CIRCUMSTANCE TODAY
– TO COUNT ON THE SUPPORT OF LAY PEOPLE WHO SHARE THE CHARISM OF MOTHER CANDIDA …
Help us stay with our lamps lighted
so that we may second the action of the Spirit.
Show us the Father and the living Christ in our brothers and sisters.
Especially in those who suffer … and search hopefully for
Faith, peace and consolation. Amen
Later we simply shared the meal with some delicious spaghetti and felt the warmth of family that grows and is united with God through our beloved St. Candida María de Jesús.
