VOLUNTEERS 2021 AMAZON BILINGUAL INTERCULTURAL EDUCATION NETWORK (REIBA)
“The profession at the service of education”
Our sisters, Yomaris and Kenya, already in their place of mission, give us graphic news of the REIBA program from which they collaborate in bilingual education with many other volunteers.
In the video, they tell us:
– Its objective – To strengthen and empower indigenous peoples with a relevant and quality education with the volunteering of educators, who join this desire with their hearts and talents.
– Who they are – REIBA volunteers are lay and religious. They are local, national and international volunteers who are between 24 and 60 years old. They commit to be 1 or 2 years in the project. There are specialists in teaching, theology, engineering, psychology, communication, biology, environment…
– Who supports – The Amazon Bilingual Intercultural Education Network, formerly in REPAM (Pan-Amazonian Ecclesial Network) and now in CEAMA (Amazonian Ecclesial Conference), receives great support from the CLAR (Latin American Conference of Religious) and the CRB (Conference of Religious of Brazil).
– Where and with whom they work – They work, together with consecrated life, in seven Amazonian countries – Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana (English), Peru and Venezuela. It promotes intercongregationality (23 congregations and institutes of consecrated life involved).
The second Eucharist of sending will take place on Wednesday, February 17 at 5:00 p.m. in Bolivia. You can check in the video the rest of the hours.
It is very nice to see the interrelation of countries, people, places, congregations, other national and continental organizations… Every sign that we are to go but we do it in the company of others and others, that intercongregationality and interculturality is a sign of the times that is very necessary and that is why it does not remain in dreams but is reflected in reality.
We thank Yomaris and Kenya for being there and for sending us news. We plan to know soon the congregation that has welcomed them, so that we may feel that our religious family is also expanding there.
