“Live with Dignity, Serve with Humility”

The International Volunteers to the Philippines are from Daren Girls High School in Taipei, Taiwan led by teachers Erin Chen and Wendy Shih. For four days from June 29 to July 3, 2018 were immersed in the life of the poor people of El Salvador City.

Their encounter with the feeding program children of the Hijas de Jesus ,to the encounter of the Ulaliman Elementary School and PSB Elementary School, pupils , have lived out their school motto.. “Live with Dignity, Serve with humility”. Simple girls who have come out of their way just to be in solidarity with the poor children of El Salvador. The girls shared their talents and skills with the children. ( Art, handicrafts,painting, dancing, origami, etc) Part of their immersion is agricultural work at the FI garden and in the Livestock. They had a chance to have exposure also at Cagayan de Oro Limkitkai center for a half day and a visit to the Divine Mercy Shrine on the last day . Majority are not Catholics or none at all but how they gave reverence to the Shrine.

The group all went home very happy and fulfilled with their enriching experience, expressing and hoping to come back again to El Salvador another time if given a chance. The FI sisters were also happy sharing their charism and apostolic works with them.
