Good morning! Today, like the hardworking woman that I am, I greet all of you and share my relishing and savoring from Madrid. I am Ma. Carmen, Daughter of Jesus, a woman more human, less perfect and happier each day.
And that is how my “Relishing and Savoring” for today is entitled. This phrase is currently on the profile of a friend and traveling companion. It is accompanied by a beautiful image of a black and white silhouette of a young and, I would say, free and modern woman. And inside the silhouette, behind the clothing, at heart level is something like an explosion of colored inks…
Beside it is that phrase that I like to repeat… Each day more human, less perfect and happier. Today, the 8th of March, we celebrate the day of working women, what a great gift and tribute it would be if we women all lived like that…
And with this image come to my heart countless faces of women fatigued, withered, saddened by the rigors of workand life… of all ages and cultures; human but not happy…
And women all made-up, “glammed up”, cultivators of their outermost selves, imagining themselves to be perfect, yetnot happy…
And there are alsoso many transparent women who let a fraternal humanity shine through, a humanity that is simple, warm and life-giving, committed to othersboth nearand far, women vibrantly and genuinely happy.
On this day, my wish for all is that we may be persons who become more human, less perfect and happier each day…
