On the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, the Church celebrates two great witnesses to the Gospel who proclaimed Jesus Christ to the very end. In this context, we share the CIC meeting in Rome.

From Rome to the World: The Power of the Proclamation

On the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, the Church celebrates two great witnesses to the Gospel who, though they had very different gifts and paths, shared the same passion: to proclaim Jesus Christ to the very end.

Peter, the rock upon which Jesus chose to build his Church, remained faithful until he gave his life in Rome. Paul, a tireless missionary, traveled through cities and cultures, bringing the Good News to places where it had not yet been heard. Both remind us that the Church is called to go out, to encounter people, and to share a hope that transforms lives.

A gathering to strengthen communication in support of the mission

In this very significant context, Guadalupe Galeano and M. Carmen Jiménez fi, who make up the International Communication Commission (CIC) of the Daughters of Jesus, are meeting this week at the General Curia in Rome to advance their joint work on communication in service of the Congregation’s mission.

During these days, they come together for reflection, dialogue, planning, and discernment, with the hope of continuing to strengthen communication that highlights the life, mission, and charism of the Daughters of Jesus within the universal body of the congregation in the various places where it is present.

The richness of the gathering and of working together

The in-person gathering at the General Curia also offers a valuable opportunity to share daily life with the Superior General, her council, and the community. This closeness fosters mutual understanding, the exchange of perspectives, and more coordinated work, strengthening the bonds that make possible communication that is increasingly integrated, participatory, and at the service of our common mission.

In a deeply connected world, communication—beyond simply conveying information—means building relationships, fostering trust, and sharing stories that reveal how God continues to act in history.

Peter and Paul: Communicating the Gospel Through Our Lives

The fact that this gathering coincides with the feast of Saints Peter and Paul invites us to reflect on communication as an authentic ecclesial mission. Just as Paul traveled far and wide to proclaim the Gospel and Peter upheld the unity of the Christian community through his witness, so too are we called today to seek new languages, new ways of encounter, and new spaces to share the Good News with creativity, closeness, and depth.

May the example of these two great apostles inspire the work of the International Commission on Communication (CIC) and encourage the entire Mother Candida Family to continue communicating—through words and through their lives—the hope of the Gospel wherever each person lives and seeks meaning.

The fact is, we are convinced—and we live by this conviction—that communication is also a way of serving the mission: to make visible God’s presence in our history and to invite others to discover that He continues to call, send, and accompany us today.
