This April 27 we celebrate Blessed María Antonia Bandrés (Antoñita) and, together with her, FASFI Day. Antoñita is not only a model of youth, but also a reference of deep solidarity. Her life left us a lesson that resonates today more strongly than ever: “Following Jesus and being at the side of the poor are one and the same thing”.
Presence and hope in the peripheries
Determination GCXIX (N. 23) urges us to look at the geographical and existential peripheries that are multiplying in our world. In the face of the throwaway culture, the Daughters of Jesus feel called to:
"To make ourselves present with our suffering brothers and sisters, contributing our grain of mustard seed... embodying the living presence of Christ."
This “mustard seed” is precisely what the Daughters of Jesus Solidarity Aid Foundation (FASFI) embodies. The Foundation’s response to today’s challenges is the same one that moved Antoñita in the neighborhoods of Toulouse: a charity that does not wait, that rolls up its sleeves and seeks to dignify each person.
FASFI: Join our mission of solidarity
The Daughters of Jesus Solidarity Aid Foundation is a non-governmental organization created in 2003 by the Daughters of Jesus Congregation to support countries and groups in vulnerable situations. Its mission is to raise awareness, to inform, to make international cooperation a reality, as well as to promote participation and social volunteering.
The mustard seed grows thanks to shared commitment. We invite you to learn more about the projects we support around the world and discover how you can be part of this engine of change. Whether through volunteering, becoming a member or making a one-time donation, your help allows hope to reach where it is most needed.
May the joy of Antoñita and the impulse of the CGXIX help us to continue to be instruments of equity and social welfare wherever life needs it most.
