FI Youth: a way of walking in the Spirit

May 22, 2026 | Charismatic Family, Featured, fi, Young FI, Youth

We continue to prepare for the Feast of Pentecost, hand in hand with FI Youth, who invited us to unite in prayer for each other, in this beautiful international prayer network that has been formed in this diversity of our charismatic family in so many parts of the world. And prayer leads to mission. Today, as we approach the feast of Pentecost, together with FI Youth, we feel urged to share the good that we receive, to commit ourselves to those who need it most and to bring to others the light and fire of the Spirit. They help us to prepare ourselves to “walk in the Spirit”.

Pentecost is the feast of the Spirit, the feast of the Church.

The disciples left behind the fear that kept them imprisoned and set out on their journey.

"And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit"(Acts 2:4).

Pentecost also happens for us, FI Youth, who have experienced the joy of the Risen Lord in our lives. We have felt his call, his closeness, his way of sustaining hope even in the midst of our frailties. And that is precisely why we want to be his witnesses.

The Holy Spirit pours his gifts on us and fills us with strength and lucidity to send us to transform the world from every decision, every encounter and every human wound that calls for hope.

To walk in the Spirit means

Contagion of the joy of the risen Jesus.
Contagion of hope.
Contagion of closeness.
Contagion of humanity.
Contagion of life.

Walking in the Spirit leads us to…

Not to pass by the pain of the world.

Let us be touched by the suffering of so many families forced to leave their homes because of war, famine or natural disasters.

Remain attentive to abandoned children and the elderly.

To approach without prejudice those whom we so often label or exclude.

And to walk with so many young people who live without horizons and need meaning and hope.

There the Spirit sends us.

Jesus is waiting for us there.

The Spirit has put a flame in us.

And that flame is not to be kept.
It is to be spread.

May this feast of Pentecost find us with open hearts.
Willing to let ourselves be moved by the Spirit.
Willing to walk in Him.
Willing to be flame, light and heat in the midst of the world. Come, Holy Spirit.
Enkindle in us the fire of Jesus.
