The Company of Santa Teresa (Teresianas) welcomes us to their home.

January 23, 2022

For some time now, every Monday, at the time when the community goes down to the chapel for the celebration of the Eucharist, the doorbell rings twice. A call is, as always, from a Father of the Order of Mercy, who presides over it. The other is from the Teresians. The  Eucharist on Mondays thus has a  special flavor.

It was at the end of September when they came to our house and it’s not just that we live nearby, which is how it is, it’s that we feel close. We really feel like sisters in helping, in communication, in sharing what life brings.

They also wanted to receive us as a community in their home. And finally, the opportunity came.

First, we share the prayer. In the context of the week of prayer for the unity of Christians, on the eve of the Day of the Word, we felt that what unites us is so much and so strong… We prayed: “May they all be one” (Jn. 17, 11 ss), “The charismatic richness understood from the complementarity and totality that the Lord evokes, invites us to approach, listen, learn and enrich ourselves with the GIFT that sisters and brothers of other charisms offer us” (Cfr LA Gonzalo Díez, cmf. Time of the Spirit Intercongregationality). It was an endearing time, we sang ” Your Word is a lamp for my steps” and meanwhile, the Word was enthroned with all solemnity to the rhythm of the music. There were those who felt like living at Christmas, despite being January 22. And that makes so much sense…

They walked us around their house and we ended up having dinner together and talking about our foundresses, our houses, stories, traditions… The affection was felt between the dishes and, of course, there was no lack of laughter.

From here, once again: Thank you, sisters.
