In a recent article, we shared from the International Novitiate about the arrival of the new novice mistress at the Novitiate community. At this moment the time came to say goodbye and say thanks to our sister Sônia Maria Soares da Rocha, and for her the moment to say hello to Brazil in her new assignment. The sisters of the novitiate prepared a farewell party for her during the last three days. On the first day Father Santiago Castello celebrated the Eucharist with us in the chapel of the novitiate. Then we shared lunch with the sisters of Cordoba and some friends. For each of the three days we prepared a special prayer thanking her and asking for the grace she needs as she continues to follow Jesus.
On October 5 Sister Sônia left the novitiate and soon, on the 29th of this month she will travel to Manresa, Spain to attend the Ignatian Immersion course. We join her together with our prayer, that this opportunity of formation that God allows her to live in this moment may be fruitful and meaningful in her new task.
We thank God for the service and availability of Sister Sônia, her dedication in helping the novices in their formation, a task that began in the Dominican Republic and continued in the last three years in Argentina. We are sure that Sônia has shared the best of her person to help the future Daughters of Jesus with her witness of life.
With great gratitude and joy we all say to you: DEAR SÔNIA, INFINITE THANKS!
