FORMATION SESSION OF FI SISTERS 71 AND UP
February 5, 2022, was a special day for the FI Sisters of ages 71 and up in the Indico-Pacific Province for it was an online Formation Session via Zoom. The sharing from the heart of Sr. Ma. Bema B. Solis, F.I., about “Aging: Experienced and Lived as an Hija de Jesus” enlightened and inspired the sisters as they listened to her true-to-life lived experiences and learnings along her personal journey of aging. The sisters were deepened on three main points: “A Sense of Home, A Sense of Mission and A sense of Profound Gratefulness.” Some practical guidelines were also given to age well and with grace in the last part of the talk.
The whole morning session passed so swiftly as the sisters got focused on listening, praying, and reflecting that led to a “heart process”. Each group shared feelings and resonances on what they learned. It was very lively participation of everybody as expressed in the General Assembly. They resonated with Sr. Bema’s experiences that she went through in the process of aging. Some sisters realized the importance of the grace of “coming home to God” and “coming home to self ” and that “prayer should be the lifestyle of the Hijas de Jesus”. Others affirmed the need for the in-depth integration of the “Sense of Mission”. The majority expressed their profound gratefulness to God, their loving Companion, and also their desire to continue being “Keepers of the Meaning”. The sisters found the time for sharing quite short to be able to express what they had in their hearts. However, it was suggested that they continue in their respective communities, giving life to what they have listened to and learned how to age well and with grace.
Thank you, Sr. Bema, for your sharing from the heart about AGING which has inspired us in our personal journey in this graced moment of our lives.
