In his introduction and initial greeting, Pope Leo XIV expressed: “…united, hand in hand with God and among ourselves, we move forward.” And so it has been these days in which we have been accompanying the universal Church in this historic moment of the election of the Pope; we too continue in pursuit for what the world and the Church need today and, from there, to listen and discern the calls that God gives us as Hijas de Jesus.
We have been working on the “Recommendation” made by the previous General Congregation to the Superior General for these six years. We recall that it asked that:
“Review and adapt the administrative structure in the Congregation and consider the need for changes in the Statutes for Economic Administration, which will be presented for approval by the General Congregation XIX.”
It has been requested to do so:
…”taking into account the Church’s call to review the management and administration of goods – in the light of an economy at the service of the charism and mission, contributing to strengthen an economy of sharing and communion”.
Together with this and other “Matters,” these have been days of study, listening, reflection, a lot of sharing… We are a group of GC delegates and the whole Congregation, who accompany us in this process with contributions, reflections, and petitions from all the communities.
Everything we are dealing with is a challenging and enriching process; it is a time of inner silence and appropriate speech, a time of listening and contribution…personal and group moments… A time to seek the greater good, the universal good.

Moreover, we have strong and rich experiences in this ‘time we are living’. On Saturday, May 3rd, after the election of the General Counselors, in the afternoon, we participated in the Eucharist celebrated in St. Peter’s Basilica for Religious.
On Thursday, in communion with the whole Church, we accompanied the announcement of the new Pope, who has filled us with hope from the Curia and St. Peter’s Square. We thanked God and prayed for him and the Universal Church. It was a very moving experience to be there.
We share with you some photos that reflect these days.
We continue to count on your prayers.
