Holy Saturday | Caring for Hope

Apr 3, 2026 | Liturgia – oración, News

We continue to walk in this Holy Week. After entering with Jesus on Palm Sunday, learning to love without calculation on Monday, allowing ourselves to be transformed in the truth of the heart on Tuesday, recognizing the call to rebuild bonds on Wednesday, discovering on Thursday that to love is to serve and yesterday, to remain close to the cross, today the road leads us to silence.

The silence of the tomb is not the end. It is also God’s time. Even when everything seems to have stopped, even when darkness seems to have conquered, God continues to act, even when we do not see him, even when everything seems to be over.

This day invites us to take care of hope. To sustain it with faith, to protect it in the midst of uncertainty, to trust that life has the last word.

We believe that the Spirit continues to work in history (GCXIX), in the hidden, in the small, in what is not yet fully manifested.

Therefore, today we ask ourselves:
What hope needs to be nurtured in my life and in the world?

Perhaps the gesture is simple and meaningful: to light a candle and, in its light, to entrust to God the whole of humanity, with its wounds and its yearnings.

And from there, we pray: Lord, sustain our hope.
